Forty-seven Rōnin form the first warrior group.
We are choosing the first warrior group of the liberation — 47 Rōnin, picked personally. Each seal is numbered — Rōnin #12 of the first 47 — and stays in the movement's history for as long as it has one. Nobody enters earlier than this group; there is no earlier gate.

The arithmetic of the first group: 47 Rōnin × 5 chairs = 235 apprentice positions
in the first wave. Everyone who comes after enters as an apprentice — through a
Sensei's chair, if a Sensei chooses them. This first group is the earliest
gate this program will ever have.
Applications close when the 47 chairs are filled.
The first group is chosen together and announced together. Those not chosen enter the Waiting Hall — visible to every Sensei with an open chair, and first in line if another warrior group ever forms.
